THE MANNEQUINS IN THE SHOWBIZ

                 Business methods in the 21st Century have undergone a sea change. Look at those advertisements on TV and the  larger-than-life photos of celebrities on the billboards on the city boulevards and town roads  advertising  popular  brand of cosmetic products etc. To beat it all, business moguls have now adopted another eye-catching method to attract customers, that is, putting up beautiful  mannequins at fashionable garment shops in the shopping malls and crowded bazaars to attract the prospective customers. The shapely female mannequins wrapped in latest catchy sarees or wearing jeans and cardigans; male mannequins ,lanky and macho, displaying the new-fangled dresses  do  surely  have that killer look or  come-hither look for which  people of the younger generation throng at those places like bees.

                In Bhubaneswar city, the popular shopping complex/malls such as Regalia, Esplanade and Smart Bazaar are the  bustling business centres where people of the city and those from distant places gather during the week-end either to window-shop or to buy the things of their choice and to have fun. Anyway, a glimpse of those mannequins make us feel that they are competing with the bevy of beautiful women and girls who are out  there to shop  around .
