THE GLORIOUS SKY
I am a habitual stargazer since my childhood. The beauty of the evening sky as well as the star-studded sky at night really fascinates me. My penchant for looking at the sky has made me curious about its change in colours according to weather conditions. The rainbows that appears in the sky after rain and the clouds of different shapes and sizes that scud across the sky remind me of the glory of God who created all these.
While watching the evening sky especially in winter I feel a sense of joy. The herons flying back to their resting places forming an echelon sometimes gliding in the wind and sometimes struggling against the updraft of the wind mesmerize me. When day light ebbs away, bats in swarms come out of the nearby banyan trees and effortlessly fly about in the sky using their echo-location. I watch them until they melt away in the darkness and the stars begin to twinkle. The night sky with innumerable stars ,each glorifying God seems to tell me the story of creation of the universe. Sometimes, I laugh at myself mistaking a flying plane to be a UFO.. Yes, a case of mistaken identity. At times, meteors flash in the sky and fascinate me. Really, the glorious sky exalts the glorious God.
