CLOUDS ARE THE DUST OF GOD'S FEET

Whenever I see the clouds I am really  filled with wonder and awe . They really reveal the glory of God who sustains the earth and the living creatures with His mighty power. The Bible says," Clouds are the dust of His feet." ( Nahum 1:3). Yes, it is true. As the invisible God walks in the sky on his routine supervision of His creation ,the dust off His feet floats in the vast blue canopy above the earth as clouds. In his epic poem "Meghadutta" the Indian poet Kalidasa addresses the clouds as " Cloud Messengers".

During childhood,I had a wrong notion that "clouds are very light so that they float and glide in the sky". However, one will be surprised to know that they actually weigh hundreds or thousands of tons or even millions of tons as they together carry with them water to  distribute over vast regions as rain, during the rainy season. Clouds of different shapes and sizes that scud across the sky during the rainy season really surprise me: Some look like battle ships sailing in the sea and about to attack the enemies and some look like soldiers in the battlefield charging forward with flashes of lightning. Though their hideous forms induce fear, they are the water jars of heaven that pour out the kindness of the Creator to revive and rejuvenate the parched world. Glory be to God.
